Plug the EGR?

im putting in a sr20 in my 1992 240sx and i heard you have to plug the egr with a nickle...what does the egr look like??? soryy im a nubie...what other things to i need to make sure i take care of while doing the sr20 swap...im starting it on saturday...thank you...

sr20's dont have EGR's..Your taking about the AIV.Nissan makes a plug for it..Use that not a nickle.

The AIV is the tube that connects to the turbo outlet extension housing. Remove that, find part number 14052-21R00 from your local nissan (it's a 300ZX part number), and insert.

Another route you can go, and is infinitely cheaper, is to take the tube from the AIV, cut it off near the collar that screws into the turbo extension, then crimp it closed and weld it shut. It's not perfect as a bad weld can make it leak, but if you don't like the price of the plug from Nissan or they don't have it, this is another alternative for you.
