Hey Guys,

I know a while back someone (dont remember who) posted something about this Accessport from Cobbtuning.com for the G35. Well I was already familar with the product before then because my uncle has a 08 STI and gained about 30 extra horses from just plug and play!! Well the Accessport Is finally available for the G35. I also know people had asked if it saved your factory mapping settings and yes it does it stores the factory mapping directly into the device itself. Just check out the site for more details! http://www.cobbtuning.com/prod...=3687

PS: Its about $700 worthy bucks!!!

Yes it can!

Monitor average and instantaneous fuel economy estimates to improve your driving techniques for optimal fuel efficiency. Customers have seen over a 5%-10% improvement in fuel consumption when used in conjunction with the Fuel Economy Map.

i just got one for my 04 wrx and its awsome im running stage 2 map and it put me at 280hp from 227hp my car pulls like a beast now. You can leave it plugged and watch live data intake temp, coolant temp, timing, fuel load, etc. also fuel economy and you can check and clear cel and different maps like valet mode that wont let the car over like 3k rpm, anti theft wont let the car start, economy mode for fuel savings etc. i love it!

That sounds more like it can show you how NOT to drive, but when reading their site, I didn't see anything about true fuel economy gains. We all know how to drive like grandmas. Why do we need a $700 toy to tell us?

I read the instructions on the website about this mod, and they kept hammering the importance of using just stock intakes as they reduce the potential for a less lean air-fuel mixture. So, what are we with mods supposed to do, if this mod has the potential of leaning out our car to a dangerous level?

Sounds like part of the biggest gain in power comes from leaning out the F/A ratio. I would rather run -10HP and safely rich, than to be +10HP and leaning to the point of excessive heat and the problems that could be associated with it.

But what you didnt read was the part about anyone with mods already have to custom tune the car with the acessport.

I am not sure how financially sound it would be to tune small bolt on mods. I understand tuning a TT or SC---a huge must. What do you think?

I have heard a lot about this and even read on it, and its not the only option out there (for the Z). There are a couple different reflashes out there as well. It sounds good, people seem to be getting some serious gains on top of what they did with bolt ons. I'm interested but have yet to see a review on the product. One of you rich G owners fork out some dough and buy one to let us know what its all about!

Dude, you've got a turbo. You're only likely to see about 10 hp on a NA car.

For most of us, it's more than just raw power, it's about squeezing every last bit of power while also correcting AFRs for mods, which I don't think this PnP will do.

I think you are agreeing with me. I've chipped NA cars before. It really doesn't do squat! On a turbo car, a chip can significantly improve performance--20, 30, 40 hp or more is realistic.

I was trying to reply to you and deal with the issue at hand.

I agree that the Cobb won't add much in the way of HP on an N/A vehicle.

A stand alone device with bolt-ons might see better gains or wider gains. While also having the option of tuning for fuel economy when power isn't needed (like that ever happens lol).

I don't think paying $70/HP is really worth it. Especially when there isn't any aesthetic or audio improvement.
