Or it's misfiring b/c the gap isn't large enough...

You don't have to run any less gap at 8psi then stock.

What wires? New rotor and/or cap? What plugs?

i was running .028 before and i went to .032 and now have these problems , i just think its strange to go .004 more gap and it runs that much different!

by the way what is the stock gap?

"blowing the spark out".Man I love that term, as wrong as it may be.

You might consider checking your air/fuel ratio as an excess of fuel can cause a situation where ignition would be more difficult than usual. Another choice might be to get an aftermarket ignition system. MSD seems to be a popular choice, plus they make one that can give you boost/spark retard. Not that you need it, but it opens some options for you

Full throttle or part throttle?During throttle transition?During boost transition?Only at high RPM?Factory ECU or aftermarket?Mass Airflow or Speed Density?

In other words, it would be hard to diagnose without further testing.

Might check your knock sensor and MAF, but without more info I am really just guessing.

dont know about the s14s, but do you have an external coil. if so, I solved all my ignition problems by upgrading to msd blaster 2 coil.

Yeah, upgrading my coil solved my bogging/misfire issues.

by swtiching to an s13 dist. and external coil. but i belive the only way to make that run is to have a standalone

there's no way to run an external coil on my 98 without either running a standalone or using the s13 distr.?

Jim Wolf Tech Homepage has the wiring instructions for an external coil:

I run the HKS Twin Power so I can't offer more insight.
