WOULD RUNNING NO THERMOSAT CAUSE MY PLUGS TO FOUL?

HERE IS MY PROBLEM.....

MY CAR SEEMS TO RUNNIG SUPER RICH WHEN I TRY AND WARM IT UP IN THE MORNING...

AND WILL SMOKE RANDOMLY.... IT DOES NOT REALLY SMOKE WHEN STARTS OR AT IDLE , AND LIGHTS BUT COMMING OF THE GAS AFTER A STRETCH OF ROAD OR DOWNSHIFFTING.... ITS SO RANDOM.... YOU CAN SMELL THE GAS IN THE SMOKE....

AND I THINK I CAN EVEN SMELL IT IN MY OIL.... I AM CHANGING MY OIL MONDAY..

I HAVE CHANGED THE CAP AND ROTOR AND ARE ON MY SECOND SET OF PLUGS.... I AM TRYING TO GET THE MONEY FOR SOME NEW PLUG WIRES....

I SO HATE THIS CAR.....

ANY IDEAS

1. LEAKING INJECTORS 2. BAD TEMP SENSOR 3. NO THERMOSTAT 4. BAD TIMING 5. SHOULD I RAISE MY IDLE

I JUST CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP DUMPING MONEY IN THIS THINGFOR THE 5% OF THE TIME IT KICKS ***

THX, J

Your lack of a thermostat would keep engine temps way too low. Your ECU would keep dumping more fuel to try to raise the motor temperature. Besides, it's winter why the hell would you run your motor without a thermo? It wouldn't stop overheating or something? If so, bleed the coolant properly with a thermo installed before going onto my next suggestions.

Check out the O2 sensor. You might want to get a new set of plugs at the same time if they're fouling. See if the motor warms up like it should. When it does (now that you've got a thermo installed) check your idle speed. MT's idle speed is listed under the hood. After that, check your timing. Another thing to do, although not necessarily the culprit, is to clean the MAFS. If you've still got issues with your motor, it could just be a leaky injector.

could also be valve guids/seals letting oil pass by into the combustion chamber when then cylinder is under high vacume, like when you your engine is slowing the car down when you lift off the gas...

Question if it was the valve guide seals would there not be oil on the plugs?

I just have carbon and gas...
