i have the same problem with my 2871R. Check the exhaust system for leaks. Anything pre turbo will cause boost drop. Im checking mine tomorrow.

my boost leak is caused by the internal flapper of the wastegate not sealing right. i have to take it to the shop who i bought and installed the turbo to get it replaced or fixed.

run some seafoam through your vacuum system. it will put smoke through the exhaust showing any leaks.

What kind of turbo are you running? When a turbo is on it's way out it tends to not be able to hold boost at higher RPMs/
