ok my 93 j30 will only start if i pull the fuel pump fuse out ,then it will die if i try to put the fuse back in.ive been working on this for almost 2 days and im fed up...and suggestions????

Uh .. That sounds backwards !!You sure thats the pump fuse ??

yes its the fuel pump fuse....then if i try to put the fuse back in once started it will die.or itll die after it runs out of the reserve gas in the lines

That is bizzare ..your pump shouldnt work with that fuse pulled.Hopefully a Guru will chime in.Im confused on this symptom

check the fuel pump relay

yoda....i was saying the car would only start under NO feul pressure..taking the fuse out.after about 6 hrs. today i think i traced it to the fuel pump resistor.....i never knew it even had one...spec calls for 1.2 ohms........it had0.0 so im gonna replace that and hopefully thats the isssue....if not im leaning twords the fuel pump control moduel.

Not sure how fuel pressure is regulated on a J30, but on at least one car I know of, if the fuel pressure is too high the injectors will not be able to open.

Check the fuel pressure if you can.

well it seems it WAS NOT the resistor....now it still intermetintly starts...some times starts right away some times not for an hour.

fuel pressure is good. i replaced the fuel press. regulator and so far it has started every time. well see whats next.

well guys it was the f.p.r. its been 2 days and NO starting issues..also the idle is super smooth.thank you all for the input.its very much appreciated.
