alright guys. Ever since getting my car running again a couple weeks ago my car has just developed problems that im trying to figure out. And one that ill get on my knees and beg for help is WIRE GREMLINS. Again, i have done research and i believe im on the right path to fixing it but i still want to adress my exact problem.
plain and simple....

If i turn the car OFF, key out and everything... the dash dummy lights stay on. (the door ajar light, battery light, seatbelt light, and ebrake light) The radio and everything turns off like its supposed to. SOMETIMES, if i turn the engine on then quickly turn it off, the lights turn off as well. Now im having to disconect the battery. WHAT THE HECK? Can some one help me out??? also i tried switching ignition fuses under the hood and nothing. Am i missing something.

All of this started happening today along with my auto seat belt not working and door dinger ringing like crazy with the key of to.lol ...

Nothin guys?? Well.. i got to diagnosing the wiring issue. I believe its a short somewhere. First thing i did was check under the steering column to see if it was the ignition switch. I dont think it is because the lights didnt turn off when i unplugged it and i beleive they should if that was the problem according to a post i read on here. The next step i took was unpluging each fuse one by one in that kick panel in the car. The only one that turned the lights off was the meter fuse. I also got to checking fuses under the hood and if i unplug the 10 amp "engine cont." fuse, the lights would also turn off. The funny part about all this, is that my 25 amp "engine cont." fuse was popped and causing one of the relays to click repeatedly. I figured that was the problem so i put another one in and.... nothing. Sometimes the dummy lights go off, sometimes they dont. The last thing i did was check the wire harness under the driver fender and nothing popped out at me except one frayed wire that i fixed. However, my side blinker light wires were frayed and assumed thats what grounded out every now and again causing my problem (blinkers are linked to the meter fuse i beleive). Excited that i thought i found the issue, i taped them up and put everything back together. I didnt have the dummy light issue for a whole day. HAHA.. And now it sometimes does it still. What the heck??. Any body think im over looking something? :frown:
