It could have a negative effect if you drive it like you stole, because the spacer does add power. The install is straight forward and instructions are dead on.

The only problem, the spacer isn't available on the V36.

V36 is the chassis code for the G37.

V35 is the chassis code for the G35.

VQ35DE, VQ35HR, and VQ37HR are the engine codes.

In 2007 the G35 Sedan changed body styles. It became the V36 chassis. In 2008, the G37 coupe was introduced, it became the V36 chassis as well. Only 2003-2006 G35 Sedans, 2003-2007 G35 Coupes and 2003-2006 (non anniversary) 350z can benefit from a plenum spacer.

Infiniti fixed the issue causing the need for the spacer...

Spend your $$ on a good intake. I recommend the R2C. I put one on my G37 (same intake design) and lOVE it!

Listen to the man, he speaks the truth! (5) other Nico folks and myself decided the same thing and I just placed their order today.

Just do it, you won't be disappointed. ;)

i would def do an intake before the plenum even it were available. the only reason why i didnt jump on it this time was money. i'll want to pay some small debts down first then ill do a bit of modding. thanks for all the help.

Definitely take it slow. Otherwise you'll get to excited and blow too much money at one time and be in debt too much.

...don't ask me how I know that.

Sooooo, this chassis code has nothing what so ever to do with the engine?
So, my 08 G sedan is a V35 which is the same as a 09 G sedan with a 3.7 ??
Or, do the chassis codes change with the changes in displacement too?
I see people referring to these chassis codes all of the time.

Is there a secret decoder ring that can be obtained?? :gotme :poke:
Maybe a x-ref of chassis codes per make/model/year in the FAQ !!! :yesnod

You are right my friend. The chassis code changed for the V36 began ins 2007 for the sedan although it was VQ35. 2008 for the coupe.

Yeah I forgot about the weird middle ground of v36 and v35.

But yes in general chassis code has nothing to do with engine.

Example S13 chassis for Nissan had 5 different engine options from the factory (depending on where/when it was sold)
CA18DET
SR20DE
SR20DET
KA24E
KA24DE
