i have been reading various posts and i see that many recomend the plenum spacer. my question is how much of a difference will the 1/2" spacer make over the 5/16"? and i noticed that there are iso thermal options as well. what is the difference?

The different sizes affect the hp/tq curves. If you don't have major mods, I'd go with the 5/16 to have the most usable gains.

5/16 will give you the most "area under the curve" meaning you gain the most throughout the whole powerband
the 1/2 will give you higher gains from 4000+
