Someone told me that I have to get a 5/16 plenum spacer and not a 1/2 inch becuase it won't fit? Is this correct? Because I would much rather get the 1/2 Isothermal they have to offer.

What an incredibly suspicious and vague post. Are you perhaps a spambot that forgot to put the link to your wonderful chinese junk part?

I think he/she/it is talking about the motordyne spacer that is for the 350z. regardless of if its a spam bot or not, the question can be answered like this....they make both and they both will fit. if you are going to turbo your Z then go with the 1/2 spacer, if you aren't then go with the 5/16" spacer...you won't see, feel, or hear a difference between the two and its cheaper...

Does the spaces actually do anything to lower intake temps or is it snake oil?

I don't think it's the space that really makes the difference, it's the insulating properties of the gasket/spacer. Less heat transferred into the plenum means lower intake temps, right? Maybe extra material from it being thicker might help, but I don't see how 3/16th would make a difference like all that, now...

sorry for the vague question. Im looking at the motordyne isothermal plenum for my 2005 g35 coupe. I have jwt popcharger/z-tube combo already installed. Looking to add HKS hi power cat back exhaust at the same time as the spacer.

I would think regardless of the presence of the space heat soak under the hood would still render intake temps about the same. The lengthening of the intake path would yield some changes in the air flow. How much I don't know.

a short ram intake is prone to soaking up the large amount of heat put off by that motor. A cold air intake, one that pulls in the air from the front bumper will allow for much cooler intake temperatures.

As for your other though, that exhaust is loud...and when I say loud I mean LOUD. If I were you I'd look into the ARK Grip V2. No drone, true dual, and much quieter in terms of in your face loudness (no exhaust is as quiet as stock) while retaining that oh so sexy VQ sound.

Ok.. so please bare with me here.
The ARK Grip True Dual exhaust comes with a xflow y-pipe. Does this include cats? I just always thought that the y-pipe was illegal. _I live in Texas+

No problem...its basically a cat-back exhaust, meaning it starts at the catalytic converters and goes back. I'm not sure on the laws in texas though on exhausts, so I really couldn't help you on the legality of it, but I wouldn't think that just putting on an exhaust would be illegal. Your car already has a Y-pipe. This exhaust would only be replacing that with what they call an X-pipe. Those names come from the way the exhaust is shaped, if that helps you at all.

RED_DET should be able to give you more information on the exhaust itself.
