Couldn't really find perfect answers, so...

I'll be getting a 5/16 spacer sometime soon.

I assume that most people have disconnected the coolant lines from the TB and therefore had to drain/change coolant to avoid air bubbles. Is it possible to leave the lines connected? Basically is it possible to install the spacer without completely removing the top section of plenum, just raising it up enough to get the work done?

Thanks

It is not necessary to disconnect any coolant lines. Just remove the bolts, disconnect vacuum lines, take upper plenum off, install spacer, use new hardware bolts, reconnect vacuum lines and you are done. The instructions are very straight forward, should take you less than 30 mins.

Ah cool, just assumed the coolant lines had to come off. Now if I can just afford the spacer.

The MREV2 or the spacer comes with the coolant bypass valve...you don't need to bleed the system.

I don't have the need to use the bypass, doubt I will install it.

Welcome to NICO!

The VQ35 has a design problem with the front cylinders, the spacer allows more air to flow and to even out each cylinder intake. For the 05+ 6MTs, the MREV2 lower plenum will give even more of a boost in total air intake.

Search the boards for more info.

Cool thanks, I'm soon to be the proud owner of a 2007 G35 coupe. I've never owned an Infiniti before so I'm new to all of this.

Usually removing the plenum doesn't require the cooling circuit to be opened, but opening it up there isn't too bad usually since it as the top of the circuit. However the correct way to do it would be purge it.

Don't forget to clean the inside with some gum cutter. The pcv sucks up a bit of oil and crap and the plenum gets dirty after time. However never touch the throttle plate. There is an old thread that has all the torque specs but I think it is roughly 11inlbs I think.

Torqd- Welcome and Congrats.

I believe its 90 INCH pounds (about 6 ft lbs) of torque for the bolts. Its in the instructions you can find on Motordynes website, and if you buy one new it'll come in the package.

Biggie, I see these for sale on a reg. basis if you wanna save a little cash thats the route to go for sure.

Yeah, I've been looking for a used basic one, but most have pieces missing or something and aren't that much cheaper than new.

I'll be getting the undershroud first anyway and then have to pay off my credit card before getting the spacer. That's not including finishing up some projects on both of the S13s first.
