I'm so perplexed by the fact that the drivers side of the plenum is ready to come up and out yet the passenger side which I thought I had done the most work on and had everything off is not budging?! I'm very confused and I've been following my write up pretty much perfectly? EGR and PCV's are disconnected, hoses in the back left side corner of the plenum running down to turbos are disconnected is there another pipe or connection that I can't see that is holding me up?? Honestly from what I can see everything is disconnected unless there's another pipe or something underneath that I'm missing?

:wtf2:

Without pics its really hard to tell what may be restraining removal. Also, you mentioned the EGR and PCVs are disconnected. Just to be sure, (no insult of intelligence) there is an attachment for the EGR just under the TBs on both the passenger and drivers side(s). 10mm x Two bolts each connection. Take a look @ the pic below. Circled in blue.

This may be your hold up. If not then continue to hunt around for tension and double check to ensure all bolts are removed applicable to the upper plenum.

Good luck with that, and lemmie know how you made out.

Safety FTW!

Yah those are both out.. I stripped one of those bolts so I hacked the pipe, I'm gonna do the EGR delete on the car.

From your picture that you have all the dots pointed out on what to disconnect, I should be set, all those hoses and lines have been disconnected.

Honestly guys.. I have followed the write up I found on TwinTurbo.net to a T and I can't really find any more hoses or bolts or anything that's holding the plenum down? Could it be that since the plenum has never been pulled before that it's just being stubborn?

just wondering... it wouldnt hurt to put anti seize on the bolts that go into the plenum would it? most likely help preventing bolts from breaking off or tripping the holes?

antisieze prevents corrosion in disimilar metals, steel bolts in an aluminum plenum can corrode, using antisieze will prevent that fomr happening

Finally found out today that there was a bolt that looked like just a piece of the plenum! Turns out I didn't need a crowbar at all just needed to take that one bolt out and it was fine... anyone have suggestions for the EGR delete and what I should do with the metal piping?

I think everyone should pull a z32 plenum to be able to graduate from highschool... off topic but true....it teachs you many lessons...patience, endurance, and alcoholism.

I am new to the 300zx family wich I am proud to say by the way; but this plenum pull is not as easy as it looks. I have #6 injector open circuit and sound like a helicopter, where can I get a description on how to pull an upper plenum. so far I heard of (alldata.com) any suggestions.

Did a quick Google search and I was able to find a few references with pics.

Hopefully it's all you need to help you along the way.

Side bar...I pulled mine to do the injectors and it wasn't fun removing the EGR bolts. (4x 10mm bolts under the TBs :ohno: )

Besides that, everything else is just painstakingly removing, marking, and labeling tubes and bolts one-by-one.

Welcome.. the plenum pull actually isn't too bad I found that the hardest part of pulling the plenum were the EGR piping bolts 4x10 mm bolts. Make sure that you check the metal pipes that come from the EGR for carbon build up.. if they're badly clogged you'll either need to clean them out or remove the EGR valve which is a real PITA! Here's your free fish on doing the plenum pull..
