The plenum is off the car right now as we are in the process of replacing the fuel injectors. I have new PCVs and new valve cover gaskets. All the vacum lines look really good, soft, no tears. What else should we replalce while the plenum is off?

Well, if you have the money, I would replace the knock sensor and replace the little fuel hose that attaches the two sides of the fuel rail.

i have my plenum off too and just bought a bunch of vacuum/fuel hoses.. most of the hoses look like special hoses tho.. does anyone know what the hoses are (one on driver and one on pass side) that run about halfway from back to front of the plenum.. its about 5in long and seems to have a brass regulator or something inside the middle of the tube? also there is a tube on the pass side that seems to bottle neck.. the ends are wide and it is elbow shaped and the middle is narrower? i know local autopart stores don't have these..

yeah im doing the same thing nighttrain, I know the exact peices you are talking about because I need to replace those. Do you just try your best to fit in a regular peice of hose in its place?

You can't access the knock sensor with just the upper plenum off. The lower plenum has to come off for that. If you can, you are some type of god in my book.

On what to replace. Here is a list stuff I normally do.

1) remove and clean the IAV (need new gasket)2) replace the 5in piece of 5/16 fuel line on fuel rail3) Do egr bypass.4) do water line bypass and remove fitting on the bottom of the TB's5) replacement of valve cover gaskets along with half moons6) do PCV system if needed7) If you are really crafty you can do the "Woody" PCV bypass. Kewl IMO.8) Fuel hardline bypass (removes upper hardline out of equation)9) obviously upper/lower plenum gasket10) OEM test and visually inspect the injectors11) And lastly clean all terminal connections and diaelectric grease all of em.

replace me all (around $200 or so, check out conceptzperformance.com for price comparo) or do the bypass (save some money and be a cool guy).
