If I am removing the plenum to replace the valve covers, should I get a new gasket for the plenum?

Just to specify the engine: This is the Nissan 3.5 liter model VQ35DE engine found in Nissans and infinities. I have new valve covers, plugs, coils...just wondering if I need the Plenum gasket or should address any other parts when I have the top of the engine this far down. Thanks for any advice.

If the gasket comes off cleanly with the plenum when removed, you can generally re-use it. If it pops loose from the plenum or you find it deformed in any way, then you shouldn't. So you'll want to have one on hand anyway, unless you're certain the parts store has one on the shelf just-in-case.

get a new plenum gasket depending on how many miles are on your car they can be brittle and bend.
