ok, I see motordyne, skunk, yadda yadda.... Umm, I also see (which I need help with) 5/16 5/8 1/2 which do I need? My car is stock, future mods will be just a carbon Z tube, pop charger and full header back exhaust. I KNOW one of them wont allow me to use my stock engine cover, which I could care less about. I just want to ge the most power out of one with the mods I will be putting on. THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS!!!!

Get the 5/16" one. It has the best numbers without using a power adder such as FI. Check out this site for more info:

AHHHH...you must read into the numbers! It does have a higher peak, but lower across the board.

the 5/8" spacer tapers off at higher rpms. the 5/16 gives more hp at higher rpms - where the G's shine!

i found a dyno a while back that proved it. i'll find it again! i had to clear my history to hide the pr0n!

LOL...you'll prbably be able to squak the tires but not really spin them. The G has a safety feature (I hate that about it) where if you are at a standstill and rev the car higher then 5000RPM's (pretty sure it's that) and try to burn out, your clutch will stick right to the floor until the RPM's come down.

But...honestly, try calling Joe at everythingg35 and ask him what one gives you the best lower RPM gains. He WILL give you an honest answer.

Or, take a look at a Pulley Set (Unorthodox racing) that will free up power in the lower RPM's

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

WELL, if that's what you're looking for than get an Unorthodox Racing crank pulley!

or a supercharger.

Actually, that "safety feature" is more like a weak clutch problem. From what I've been able to gather from various sources, the pedal sticking to the floor can be fixed by installing an aftermarket clutch.

Now, What is the difference between this jwt or twj pop charger or whatever and just a cheap mendrel bent aluminum intake off ebay? besides about 100 bucks? Like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...d=1,1Why would this one be bad? It looks like it's everyhting i need. Correct me if i'm wrong, but the "Z" tube is nothing but the upper intake pipe but with out the kinks the rubber hose has in it?! I don't know. Maybe it's a credbility thing. Something to put on my "NicoClub Signature" at the end of my posts...... like I said... someone correct me if I'm wrong.... show me where the "real" value is in those high dollar intakes. I'd love to know.

Well what i see from looking at the ebay intake is what looks like THIN tubeing with a really nasty bend up at the filter, a cheap looking filter, and a Ebay name, AND no heatshield... you get what you pay for my friend and you have to pay to play

I'd love to see a dyno chart of these 2 items side by side. The ONLY thing I can see that MIGHT hinder the perofrmance with the ebau intake is the bend at the cone. What does thin mean? It sucks less air? haha

Don't go cheap on your ride bro. JWT is a well known and proven quality intake. I dunno...it's your car. But..that's my opinion.

Those intakes are "short-ram" intakes. You have two choices, JWT or Stillen. They are the same thing, except Stillen has a nicer plastic heat shield. You're right about the Z-tube, it eliminates the bends that reduce flow (but make it quieter). Both intakes, with the Z-tube, will increase HP and give you a better intake sound.

You can also go with cold air intakes (CAI) which have a longer tube that goes down into the front fender to pull colder air. They are more expensive, compared to the short-ram style and don't give any added HP. I don't like them because they can suck water into the engine (unless you have a safety valve).

Thin Walls = reduced strength. Combine this with high intake air temperatures = heat warpage for sure. It wouldn't last very long IMO. It isn't a Honda. You'll regret Crackerjacking your Mods on the G.

The Plenum spacer is made from composite material. It will not warp at all. It is essentially a gasket, similar to thicker gaskets used to decrease compression on heads. It addresses airflow problems to the rear cylinders by increasing plenum volume.

I've had the spacer on for over a year without any warpage or cracking.

I should point out that there are two sizes for the G35 intake:

5/16 and 1/2"

See the motordyne website for details.

^^^ We were talking about the cheap intake the gentleman found on ebay, not the plenum I would hope to god your plenum wouldn't crack or warp, that'd be bad bad news.

haha.... yeah, my point was (and I know someone was gonna say this) The walls being thin, yes I know that would mean "reduced strength" but I dont plan on standing on it, and i don't think my car sucks quite hard enough to collapse a metal pipe. As far as heat soak and getting hot, I am a chef and have a culinary license and know a little about heat soak. Thinner metal gets hot quicker, but no hotter than a "non-reduced strength" pan. For instance, if I drive with my "reduced strength" intake, lets say for 30 mins in this florida heat, it will be hot enough to cook an egg on. I'll go in a bar have a beer or 4 (non alcoholic ofcourse) go out and touch my intake and I could cool my soda off with it because it will not retain heat. NOW, lets assume I had a "non-reduced strength" intake made of cast iron like a dutch oven. I drive to the same bar, have the same number of drinks... hell, I even stay the night....That intake would still be hot enough to castrate a rabid dog. So, I think I might get a more enjoyabe point to point experiance with my thinner metal intake. Sorry about the rant, I just wanted to make a point. I see you all's point though, ebay is what it is.... i was lookin at everythting g35 and I think im gonna go with the jwt filter and the stillin tube.

Sorry...couldn't stop laughing when you said "dutch oven"....

I do see your point about the tendency for thicker metals to hold heat longer. But you must also remember that thinner metals are more prone to cracking, and warping...especially if its not high quality. Just be careful when you buy stuff off of ebay.

You'll be happy with the JWT!!
