I have just purchased a "Nismo" Short Shifter and I am at a jam. I placed the plastic tipped end of the shifter in the transmission thing underneath the six bolts with all the oil in there. But once I tighten down the 6 screws the shifter will not move. It is locked in place until I losen the screws but it still doesn't go in gear. I was wondering if there is some special way of putting the new shifter in the transmission thingy. (Not much of a mechanic) And possibly how the rest of the **** goes together.

did you align the plastic bushing with the hole in the transmission? there is a little hole that it has to fit into inside the six bolt housing. also, compare it to the original and make sure the shaft is similar in proportions. is it a real nismo? i didnt think nismo made a short shifter for the 240.
