QFMFT. The antiques that we have are the only ones that I wouldn't dare to part with. I love the Frontier but if I had to let her go to keep the others, I'd do it in a New York Minute.

I say go for it. Welcome to the world of "Where-the-hell-am-I-supposed-to-find-that-effing-part?" :dblthumb:

roll cage, cut the springs, sticky tires

then all you have to do is convince a track to let you drive it wearing a tophat and a suit.

Do you speak and read German? If not then you might have a hard time finding parts for it. I don't figure that these have much of a collector following, which means that even if you were to get it back to factory mint condition you may have a hard time making any profit on it at all. I say take it for a test drive, see how the suspension feels on a horrible road (shouldn't be to hard to find in the STL) and if it doesn't kill your back, sound like crap or overheat then you should be good. Is it a diesel or gasser?

He called, but I have avoided him.

I think my first "classic" should be something domestic with cheap and widely available parts. He should have returned my call sooner when I was feeling more impulsive. :)

Don't do it. It will break you financially.

Here's what it should look like:

Not a fan of the color scheme of that trans am, if you get one of those make sure it;s the right color, black with a gold firebird. Then you just need to put a CB in it, wear tight wranglers, cowboy boots and a black cowboy hat, find yourself a runaway bride on the side of the road and pretend your the Bandit. Just don't run from the cops, they have helicopters and spike strips now.

f that, Go get a Lincoln MK III while they're still cheap.

or a Chrysler Imperial/Cordoba from the late 70's

you can actually manage about 15 to the gallon in those land yachts

the Lincoln....maybe 8mpg if you're lucky.

at some point, I fully intend to get a car that is much like driving a couch around. I'm leaning on a Towncar from the newest body style. Black of course.

http://stlouis.ebayclassifieds.com/clas ... ad=4404263

it needs work....but I'd buy a suit and come up there just to goon for you if you buy it.
