PLEASE SOMEONE I NEED HELP ASAP ON AEM INTAKE INSTALLATION

I just put my husbands aem intake on my 92 240sx i am pretty sure i did everything right. My car works and rides good but i don't think the intake is in right. My husband said that i am going to love my car with the intake in a all that good stuff. well it doesn't sound any different. it doesn't have nice sound to it it just sounds the same. Why??? Shouldn't have some sound to it. My husband has a 91 240sx and said that when he put his on his car was loud and had a great sound to it. Please help me someone.

I've got the AEM too. There are 2 silencers on the 240sx intake. One by the old air filter box, and another before the throttle body (hard to see). You are essentially removing these two silencers, so the sound should be changed. Mine didn't sound too much different when I put it on. Do you have any other mods that might change the sound, like an exhaust system? If the car runs fine and everything, I really wouldn't worry about it.

No i don't have anything in there but that intake do i need to take the silender out or is it already out??? i don't know, why is my husbands car when he put the intake in without anything but the intake he had a great sound is it because on my stock intake it is a 2 piped intake is that why his was a one pipe intake. i don't know i really want a nice sound to it. please let me know

the only sounds ive ever heard from an intake is the sound of air being sucked in and when you hit the gas it makes a louder suckin sound. open your hood and listen to it idle, you'll hear it and then move the throttle body and you'll hear it even louder.
