i just want to say i am new to this board but been with nissanclub.com for a bit now. so hello

i have been doing some research for new tires for my SE-R wheels which have stock numbers of 225/45/18, +45 offset and 8" wide

so far i have only been able to find a few good tires, but not sure if they are that good. i need all season, high performance or anything above. looking for something in 450$ shipped zone

1. Kumho Ecsta ASX in size 225/40/18. they are nice for the price, the reviews are mixed, but for the money i think they are worth it

2. Toyo Proxes 4, these will run me 600$ and i dont want to spend that much on something i hear wears out too quick

thats all i got so far. and another thing i though id mention is i will only run the SE-R wheels in the spring/summer, in winter i will be running my steelies with Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. so i will have 2 sets of tires for each year.

i not a formula 1 driver, but do spirited driving often, i dont really need top of the line tire since i mostly run the streets and thats about it, some highway

You may as well ask which motor oil is best.I currently have Falken 615's on a set of 16x8 wheels. I like.Recently replaced Dunlop 409's (I like) with a staggered set of Sumitomo HTR Z3's on 17's. Unusually cheap, and I like.Another set of 16's with Kumho AST's. The ugliest tire I have ever owned, but so far has performed quite well, so by default: I like. Will be picking up my first 2 Federal 595's for my new 17's this weekend. From what I have read, I should like. The one tire I can safely say I would never buy again, the Falken Ziex 512? something like that. Greasiest, most pathetic wet handling, poorly constructed tire I have ever owned.There. Go play.

I like the Kumho AST's. They handled well for me. I used to own the Falken 512's, they looked nice, but didn't last that long to me.

My next tire set up will be with Federal 595's, only cuz they're cheap, lol. I mean, $220 for a full set for 17" wheels? that's a deal!
