Post

Most of this I posted on another Armada Forum (no disrespect here). Just wanna get the word out if you run into this problem...its long but funny.

*Pardon me as I rant*

Now that the dust has settled and my nerves are back in order (I say that literally)....I could've died...okay...maybe I'm exaggerating a lil bit but things could have taken a wrong turn for the worse.......seriously.

Prior to this post I initially stated that the synopsis of my dilema could be the right rear caliper is sticking. I came to that conclusion only because I could hear/feel the rear end budge down as if it was grabbing.....I pull off the caliper and low and behold...theres a significant chunk missing from the piston.

"Okay...cool no problem"...I'll call around, get some estimates and go from there. I get the usual run arounds...."Sorry..this is a dealer part or Naw we dont stock/carry it" right along with some astounding crazy prices for this lil ol part. I posted on this forum what I needed and w/o hesitation....I gotta give this Gentleman a sincere Thank You for your assistance "Jim Sonaglia from American Surplus Auto Parts, LLC" for responding (yes he's on here). Sorry I couldn't have used your assistance in this time of need.

As the Holiday Season is upon us and money is a lil tight...I decided to go with a used one from a junkyard about a hour and a half from me. I Get off work and start my trek to "Timbucktoo". Everything is cool till OMFG...ITS GETTING WORSE!!!! (keep in mind I drove to work with no problems...a lil stick here but no biggie).

Here comes the good part.....

While driving the posted speed limit the truck starts to sway left to right (I'm not too far from where I'm trying to get to). I slow it down and I adjust my right mirror having it face the rear wheel. "WAIT A MINUTE!!!! WTF!!!! (pardon my language).......THE WHEEL IS STARTING TO WOBBLE. "OH GREAT...THE ABS LIGHT IS ON...NOW THE SLIP....GROOVY...THE TRUCK KICKED ITSELF INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE. Immediately I pull over assessing the damage. Hmmm.....feeling the wheel its hotter than all hell. I'm looking at the front brake pad...doesn't look worn down but maybe the rear one is. Take a look at the rotor..no visible signs of grooves. Now I'm starting to really scratch my head like WTH is going on. I break out the lug bar..."yup..their all tight". Junkyard is in viewing distance...I make it there retrieving the caliper I came for.

Here's when GOD kicks in...I'm praying my butt off to make it back home but common sense said "dude...thats not gonna happen this evening".

Get back in this thing they call an "Armada", bust a "U" turn...and yup....its even worse. I decided to pull into the parking lot of a Automotive Repair shop not too far from where I was at. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT KICKS IN......."DUMB*SS.....ITS THE WHEEL BEARINGS!!!!! I'm shaking my head like why didn't I figure that out???? But it was an honest mistake/overlook on my part...."Jesus"...this is really gonna cost me.

Moving ahead....Mr. Keith at C&S Automotive Repair is very helpful...its 4:30pm...his shop closes at 5pm (great....what else can go wrong right?) & its Thanksgiving Eve. He takes it upon himself after requesting to inquire how much would it cost for a rear wheel hub assembly (dunno if I worded that correctly...sorry if I'm wrong). He gives me a couple of estimates and now I'm trying to decide if I leave it there...how am I gonna get home??? Keep in mind...I'm in "Timbucktoo".

Ok folks...I'm almost finished....LOL

I finally came to the conclusion that it would be best to get it towed home and go from there also letting my mechanic deal with it...again Mr. Keith was able to assist and got a tow truck to me in the nick of time (time check its 5pm now).

$253.00 later from my tow charge......Mrs. Armada sits in the garage STILL with a busted foot. I SWEAR I WANNA SLAP THAT B*TCH.....
