i was reading an old SCC about someone named Chris may teaming up with 240sx.org and a local speed shop building a non-intercooled turbo set up using a boost-dependant fuel pressure unit. i plan on running 7 psi like he did, but it will be side intercooled. i want to know ( if Chris May or anyone else knows ) what the set up was, how much it cost, and was it reliable. if anyone knows let me know. i want to run the same set up on my 91 hatch. thank you!!!

P.S. if anyone knows Chris May or his user name so i can speak to him it would be greatly appreciated!!

Chris went through 3 engines and then sold his car, IIRC.

So to answer is it reliable? Not for him!! He had some bad luck though...there are a few guys running bare bones setups and I wouldn't encourage anyone to turbo over 4psi without an intercooler.

i would be running intercooled. side-mount for a few months, but it will be intercooled. also, the first time his blew was because a hose clamp ate through the rubber on his wastegate. thats one of those rare bad luck situations. how much would one of those bare bones setups cost? i dont want this set up to run crazy boost and to have the fastest 240, i just want a little more power without having to spend all my money. im not into NA too much.

I'm not sure Chris is involved with 240s anymore. He use to have a very clean 400+ HP 240sx. He did get a guy to make this manifold (http://www.executivecleancar.c...x.htm), but I don't think he ever put together a kit except for the one on his car.
