allright i jus swap'd out one of my fourty's with a KA24DE just to sell it an get it out of my way.. well i get everything in an ready to go i start it up couple times in the day just to move it around nothing to big (not reving it up or beating it) well once i get everthing ready to go an get it on the road i go driving around pretty much the hole day. but i notice the oil light kept blinking at the end of the day. but it would go away for about ten minutes an then come back on. so when i pulled over to check my oil level. i hear a cladering noise in the head. so i got my buddie to tow me home. so once i got home i started it up. the cladering noise goes away an the light is gone? so i let it set there running an i seen the light go on an start to blink the cladering noise comes back. an it will do this every time. some one please help me

Looks like your oil pump is dieing and the low oil pressure is preventing your chain tensioner from keeping proper chain tension, causing the clattering noise.

You should not drive you car any further, low oil pressure is very bad.

well i took my valve cover off an it was dirty as hell. alotte of oil slugge looks like the guy that had the motor before me never changed the oil. will that cause the oil pump to stall or even go out? also i need to know were the oil sending unit is so i can check my oil pressure. (i do not have a oil gauge in the dash)

Yes, sludge can clog your oil passage ways and your oil pickup tube.

Your oil pressure sensor is next to the oil filter, I remember mine was sludged up and wasn't getting a proper pressure reading.

Hopefully you can clean up the sludge and get the car safe to drive again.

ok. well do you think if i clean the hell out of the head an get all that slug out of there. you think that might solve my oil pressure problem. cause it feels like there isn't any oil getting up to my head.

also i started it up to day an it wasn't knocking or claddering.

It's worth it to try. Run some Seafoam in the oil the perform a couple of oil changes with filter. That should help a little.
