i bought one and it has a funny plenum looking thing behind it did not look correct

that is exactly what mine looks like, i have not had it since 1997, thus it looks funny\wes did u take any pics or ur air box mods ? I am gonna run the stock box on the JDM motor for a little while.What is the air chamber thingy behind the box

No i never posted pics, but basically what I did is I cut off those litlte plastic things on the side and back and patched them up.. Did nothing.... didnt even make it louder..

Right now I have the airbox lid bunjee corded right onto the top of the airbox... sounds cool...

LOL, look who's ghetto rigging now.

IIRC someone said, "If the Infiniti engineers made it that way, it's the best way" Wonder who that could have been

I know, hypocrisy at its best... It was purely experimental... at leats i know im not doing any damage to the engine.

Thanks. I've been trying to come up with something til I find a good airbox.

Bungee cords never crossed my mind though.

I think its a damn good temporary fix now that you've mentioned it.

Interesting

Initially I thought you had bungeed the top & bottom of the airbox together.

This is .......more than what was expected
