Ive the car since last spring, and have took my time putting it togther. Its a1990gtst . iI swaped in the 2nd gen rb 25 with the vtc..Ive got a problem with the vtc working, and when it doesnt theres a 100hp in the mid range thats not there. The car does well and makes 468 @ the rear, but with no vtc its kinda dead till 5000rpm, and than between 5000 and 6500 power goes from 250 260 to 460. What im wanting to know is there a way with cams to get rid of the vtc.. Can i use cams from a rb25de that has no vtc in this motor, or does hks or someone else make something? Would the rb20de cams work. Ive my own shop in the usa, in birmingham alabama, and have been working on nissans since 1990. I do most work on the z32s 1990-96, and im really scratching my head on this Can someone please help.. Also the e-mail is not correct on here im working on it.. Please vist my web site @ Zsolutionz.net, or type in brad grodi in the google search..

Well ok, but im telling you when it works theres a 100 to 107 hp differance in the midrange..Im really needing help and what im telling you is for real. This car still has the stock ecm (from the r33 i bought) and stock maf meter. Lots of people here didnt belive that either till they saw the dyno sheet I dont need the smack of people telling me NO WAY it cant do that. It does and this is the problem ive got right now.Theres a shop her in the US thats got my dyno sheet, and the ladys name is susan. Better yet ill get the dyno sheet put on my web site. I can get that done tomorrow..I really need help with the ? i ask, not people telling me it can do that.

do you realy belive that if there was another issue the car would make the power it does at top end.. This is not a ls1 motor and the two are not comparable. The question here is what can be used to get rid of the vtc.. Hell 5 degres on my vg tt made 56 hp more. Please if you cant help dont diss me or the car. I know what its doing, and theres a issue with the vtc, not anything else..Thanks anyways.

kill vtc by using rb20 cams, unplug the solenoid.and if the vtc isnt working your wiring is wrong.

Time for a dumb ?.. Is this a stright swap, just drop in the cams, or do i have to do anything with the lifters, or cam caps. By the way, the vtc did work for about 4 pulls on the dyno, than it stoped.. Its got power and ground when needed, and the solinoid is clicking. I dont have another solinoid to try thats why im wanting to just get rid of it.. Thanks for your time. Also what about the cam gears do they need to be used from the rb20, and what about the lifter shims
