hey everyone,

So i'm trying to install an new Stereo in my 97' SE (w/Bose). I installed it and the speakers didn't work. so i read that I have to bypass the amp in the back. Do I have to do this? isn't there a "power on amp" wire?
If it does need to be bypassed, how do i do this? I used a couple jumper wires to test some connections and I got the speakers to work but i cant get them all working at the same time. Which wires need to be connected?

I know the amp works, or at least lets the speakers work, because the stock system was working yesterday.

Welcome to Nicoclub!

This has been discussed many times. There are several threads with all detailed info for stereo options. In a nut shell:
Option 1: Use a pre-amp out harness with adjustable line levels, and live with sub-par quality sound.
Option 2: Bypass stock amps and run new wire from deck to speakers, and potentially lower the lifespan of the head unit as the speakers are 2ohm (vs 4ohm).
Option 3: Run new speaker wire to new speakers, drive happy.
