I can get this set of rims cheap.. about $200 for the set... they are STERN rims and have a 4x114.3 Lug pattern (I have an s13) and are 17x7" with a +43 offset now... what is the deal with the offset? from what I understand having an offset that big sucks on a 240? why? how would it look bad? can you use spacers? and how much would a set of spacers cost? Thanks for any help you can give me!

They would look bad because they would be sunk in from the fender. You usually want something that comes out to the edge of the fender, but without sticking past it so the wheel doesn't hit when the susepnsion moves. You're probly looking for something around a 30-35 mm offset on a 7 inch wide wheel. That may not be the absolute flush look people want, but anything in that range should fit OK with no problems and look decent. Just stay away from offsets of 40mm and higher. They look crappy, and might even have clearance issues with struts and springs.

you dont want to use spacers either

however maybe someone else can tell you better, but because they look like multi piece wheels you might be able to get new "tub" pieces (dont know technical term) and mount those spokes to them

otherwise if you have to use them as they are i would stay away

What offset is best on the 240? 0? 20? 30? it depends on the with of the wheel right? as you can see by the pic of my car I am running some ugly caps ($14.99 from walmart LMAO) I need rims!!

yeah

if you want 17s you really wont find any 7 inch widths that fit well, youre better off with a 7.5 or 8 inch width at least, youll find nicer offsets in those sizes

My budget... as cheap as possible... lol... I like the look of 5-6 spoke rims with a aluminum finish.. kinda like yours... or the ones I showed you... i'm not set on 17's i'm looking for anything in the 15-16-17 range I think 16's or 17's would look better

mine are special ordered from tire rack

16 x 7.5 +22, they were only like $460 shipped

unfortunately they almost never carry them...they wont even show up on the website you have to special order them, you could try calling them maybe and seeing if they know when theyll be getting any more in

if you can afford $500 for wheels, you could get like a 15 x 7 team dynamics pro race 1, which is actually a 12 spoke wheel but looks pretty good

you also have to remember to include approximate price for tires into your equation, figure another $350 or so lets say, plus probably around $100 for mounting, so imo $1000 should be what you approach this with at least

I'm going to keep my eye out for a good deal, I live in Miami so there are plenty of ricers here... Used rims with tires show up from time to time... usually at the end of the month when rent is due LMAO... i'm looking to spend about $600-700 with tires.. less if possible.. I kinda feel bad spending money on cosmetic stuff when I could use that money for a Turbo setup, New clutch/Findanza flywheel, VLSD, Aluminum drive shaft etc.. etc.. I was in a place here called Speed and Truck world today.. nice stuff they have every high proformance part you can think of! anyway I was looking at the turbo setups for my KA and these Two young (16-17yo) Ricers were drooling over all the Crome and Cosmetic stuff that they can't afford (they were in old worn out civic) anyway... I was like yeah that stuff is nice But it's really not going to do you much good if you don't have the balls to back it up under the hood... They replied "who cares what's under the hood if you drive by and people are like sweet ride man... you put crome under the hood and make it a show car.. Show car yuh know?" The guy behind the counter and I looked at each other and rolled our eyes.. once the ricers left (Black smoke comming from the exhaust) the guy behind the counter bust out laughing it was so dam funny! anyway.. My point is under the hood is more importaint so i'm looking for cheap rims! (but still nice) lol

a good set of tires will do wonders no matter what

maybe you should try to get a set of wheels from a 240, like the 91-on s13 7 spokes...you could probably get them fairly cheap and then be able to put a nice sticky tire on

you might have to wait for the power, but tires are more important

i agree with nismofly on the s13 SE wheels. I find them alot here in Orlando for like 150 and under. All you have to do is put a nice tire on there. And their 15in. too so there are alot of tires availible for it.

I went to my local wheel place today they had a set of used s13 SE factory wheels for cheap but I don't like the look... They have some nice 17in rims though for $115 each and the low profile tires for them are like $60 each.. just around my budget... the guy was saying like $730 installed not bad... still going to keep my eyes open though

yeah, 19 mins left, 255 + 85 shipping, no longer as good a deal. I was planning on flipping them and having a -billion offset, but so much for that plan.
