i was coming home from a friends house last night and about 1/2 mile from my house a family of 4 or 5 deer jump out in front of me from the opposite side of the road so i swerve to the right to go around them and i went a little too far and went off the side of the road, hit a bump which tossed me off the side of the bike. i hit the pavement on my left shoulder and then my head slammed the ground:doh, then the rest of my left side got scraped up and i regained myself just in time to see my bike rolling off into the ditch and lay itself safely and harmlessly against a tree. my bike had no damage at all luckily. but i messed up my shoulder pretty bad, but it's not broken or dislocated so in a week or two i hope i will be healed again but it hurts anytime i move it now. just thought i would share my story so anyone out there on a bike, be careful at night and pay attention at all times. i was lucky because i was only going about 30 mph so nothing broke. be safe and please keep me in your prayers. thanksp.s. i know you hear this all the time but never ride without a helmet. i would not be alive today if it was not for my helmet. it's just not worth the risk.

Once again why I don't like motor cycles :(

Glad to hear you weren't too seriously injured though, I hope you make a quick and full recovery! I bet you're sure glad you wore a helmet :)

btw, we need a first aid smily for such cases as this, there have been a lot of people getting in wreck lately :(

Long time no see, PF! Glad you're OK.

One of my best buddies (who's also my mechanic, and a damn good one) almost died 2 months ago - Low speed crash on his streetbike w/no helmet. Several surgeries on his head and face later, he's probably permanently disabled and won't ever be "the same".

He's just now getting to where he can get out of the house, and now, instead of working on my vehicles, he has to sit in a lawn chair in my garage and tell ME what to do...

People who ride w/o helmets are selfish, thoughtless bastards that think their skills exceed the laws of physics. A$$holes.

Happy healing, brotha - Good to see you around again.

i assumed i would be acheing even worse yesterday and today but surprisingly it's already starting to feel a little better. thank you for the responses. it's really nice to come home and read what u guys have typed. i was off of work yesterday but today i have to go back and i work in pets at walmart stocking dog food and stuff so since i obviously can't toss around 40 or 50 pound bags of food for awhile i will probably be a people greeter and get to hand out little smiley stickers to the kids that walk in. well thanks again. i am off to work.
