HELLO ALL IM NEW AT THIS SO HI TO ALL AND FORGIVE ME IF I SOUND LIKE A DUMB A55.I HAVE A 1995 NISSAN 240SX AUTOMATIC AND ITS BEEN 3 WEEKS ABOUT THAT I HAVE THE CODE P1605 AND IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT SOMETHING ABOUT THE A/T TCM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AUX INOUT AUX OUTPUT AND SOMETHING.CAN SOME ONE HELP ME WHAT DO I LOOK FOR AND HAVE TO DO TO FIX IT.ALSO AROUND THAT TIME MY CAR SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN A GEAR SHIFT AND WONT GO OVER LIKE 2ND OR 3RD SHIFT.

If anyone can help me on how or what to do with error code p1605 i really appreciate it. Were can i find the a/t control unit any pict any one has? and can it be the problem of my car being stuck in 2nd gear no matter what?

Try posting a complete description of the problems/symptons as well as the code information in the Nissan Online Mechanic and I'm sure NISTECH will help you out. He doesn't wander far from that forum.

The FSM lists 3 possibilities to check

1) Harness between ECM and AT Control Unit2) Dead (weak) battery3) A/T Control Unit

Number 2 is ruled out since your car starts

I would say its probably the A/T Control Unit itself, its next to the brake pedal. You can remove it fairly easily and buy a new or used one. A new one would probably be...pretty expensive.

Yes it would have something to do with you stuck in 2nd gear all the time.

I HAVE DISCONNECTED THE HARNESS FROM THE A/T UNIT AND ALSO FROM THE ECU AND I CHECKED AND HAVE CONTINUITY NOTHING LOOKS CORRODED WIRES SEEM TIGHT.SO I GUESS IT CAN BE THE A/T CONTROL UNIT WERE CAN I GET A NEW ONE AND OR WERE CAN I FIND A USE ONE(JUNKYARD)?IS THERE ANYWAY TO CHECK JUST THE A/T CONTROL UNIT?IF SO ANY INPUT WILL HELP.
