not sure if in wrong catagory as in general or technical, here i goes..just put my car back together, driving it about 5 min, just did plenum pull and installed new injectors with upgraded ecu.. no boost leak, running perfect then it just stalled out on me. its turning over but not starting up. its very cold around 15 degrees here and my father thinks its either my fuel pump or water in my gas. car was sitting for about a month FYI, suspended liscence.. please help! i just got towed back home :( worst feeling, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Tech's for mechanical questions. I moved it there.

So have you verified spark and fuel? That's always the first step in diagnosis. Make sure you've got spark and that the injectors are clicking when you rotate the CAS. Make sure you got all the vac lines hooked back up correctly, and that there's fuel pressure. Good luck!

hopefully you didn't pinch an o-ring on any injectors - could be flooding your cylinder(s). Do you smell fuel?

There are a handfull of questions that need to be addressed to help:
-how did you verify no boost leaks? Did you use a boost leak tester?
-where did you get the EPROM from and who installed it? That could be suspect as well.
-do you hear your fuel pump when you turn the key on (not starting the car)? If so, it's not "dead" but it could be weak - verify fuel pressure to find out.

I highly doubt bad fuel to be the problem. Report back with your answers.

i bought the 740cc injectors and upgraded ecu from Specialty Z, i dont smell any fuel.. im pretty damn sure i didnt pinch an o-ring.. i put them on flawlessly.. i just dont have any fuel pressure, i checked the fuse, the fuel pump isnt making any noise anymore when i turn my key "on" i think its the fuel pump is bad.. where should i buy one?

im not sure how to verify my fuel pressure, i dont have a fuel pressure tester, no boost leaks, just changed all the vacuum hoses and when the car ran my boost gauge was functioning healthy. i mean i dont think there's a boost leak? maybe but i doubt it.. i took my time with each hose.

Sounds like you've got it narrowed down to the pump. For fuel pressure, you would need a fuel pressure gauge to check and a "T" connection to tap into the line. I might be willing to sell you my fuel pump, haven't thought of selling it yet though. Anyways, it's in the tank and I suggest that you check the solder connections when you're in there - some have recently discovered these to be the cause of an intermittent connection.

I'd buy genuine OEM fuel pump. Also, try to keep your tank at least half-full to make it easier on the fuel pump and increase its longevity.

IIRC, the pump should only have to prime the first time you go to start it to get the pressure up. After that it shouldn't need to prime again for a few hours if the fuel system is leak-free. If you don't here that little electric whine when it should prime then it's shot (or the connection is bad like previously mentioned)

The pump will turn on for a split second as long as you wait 10 seconds between tries. To make sure it is working, pull a line off at the fuel filter, direct the line into a bucket and turn the key to the ON position, fuel should begin pumping into the bucket. If nothing, then the pump may be bad, or relay. If you have fuel being delivered, you can build a pressure gauge from lowes. I just bought the parts to test mine today. I believe my fpr is bad, so want to test it. I've removed the dampener as it is unnecessary, you can do the same if you would like, just be sure to cap the vacuum line that went to it. After you test for pressure, you can find out if the fpr is good or not. A bad fpr will allow the fuel to leak back to the tank prematurely, therefore giving low pressure

Did you check the relay first? Check it before you spend that $

did you pull a fuel line to see if fuel comes out when you try to turn it over? Since you just did the plenum pull, it may not be the pump

Did you connect the hose correctly? Didn't put the return on the sending line?

Ace, ya beat me to it.

In the short dirty form, the line that comes out of the fuel filter goes to the hard line that is more to the front of the car. The return line should be the one closest to the firewall. If the lines look like they cross each other in any way, they are on backwards. The FPR will not let the fuel travel this way, thus creating no fuel pressure.

*****be careful when removing the lines if they are reversed, there is no way to bleed the fuel pressure that is built up*******
