Please help with my 93 pathfinder!

I just picked up a 93 Pathfinder XE yesterday for $1200 and overall it seems to be in great shape. Its got 164k miles and drives great. The only issues I see is that it failed smog which I think is directly related to a 'misfire' its having. When its idling you can see the tach/feel the motor miss every once in a while. The RPM's drop and pop right back up, seems like one cyl is just not firing correctly. Is there a common problem for that? I'd love to get your opinions!

The only other issue is it seems to be leaking oil at the front of the motor, havent even spent the time to see exactly where it comes from, but again I think it may be a common problem.

I'll give that a shot, The previous owner said that was just done but a few of the other things he told me weren't true so.....

I already cleaned a bunch of the connections at the MAF and other important sensors with the electrical cleaner. I also made the plug wires sit in the cap 'tighter' by expanding the little metal deals. I'm running some injector cleaner through it also to see if that could be a slight issue.

I'm 100% is gotta be spark/ignition related, it really doesnt seem like a fuel issue, although I'll replace the fuel filter just to be sure.

I concur with fueler -- probably needs 'em anyway, and it's a cheap fix. Welcome to NICO
