I was driving the other day and noticed my BOV wasn't going off. So i checked all the vacuums to make sure there is no leaks and it looks solid. I pull it off and cleaned it up a bit, and make sure that it still moved up and down and wasnt just stuck. that was ok as well.
The only time it will work is when I build up all my boost and redline, then when i let off the gas it will make the noise for about 1/4 as long as it used to.. I have read that it is bad to not have a proper working BOV because the pressure comes out the turbo instead.
Please help me out !

I'll move the thread. What type of car is it?
You might have a boost leak or something so its not building as much pressure as it used to, or you have a cheap BOV and the settings changed in it. Most are adjustable.

its a greddy type RS .. and its on an STI.. i posted a thread on nasiaq for subarus and the guys just told me to get a stock one, and didnt even try to help me fix the one i already have.. then another buddy of mine told me to come here becuase you guys are helpful.

the BOV is adjustable and ive put it as loose as possible and still nothing.. had my buddy rev the engine and usually @ high rpm it will blow off, but nothing happens. Im nervous becuae i can still here the turbo wshhh noise but if its coming out of the turbo itself that could be bad. ive traced the lines and i couldnt see anything visibly loose, whats the best way to go about testing them ?

that's cause there right about going back to stock. are you tuned to run a BOV, if not your going to run yeah rich and not make that same power cause of it. I say go back to the by-pass valve and be done with it.

if your just using the OTS maps form Cobb its isn't tuned for it. just find a second hand one off NASIOC or IWSTi.

diaphram inside could have failed, or the vac line to the bov could be split somewhere. try a buddies bov, and check the vac line to the bov.
