Please help, what watt amp do I need for this?

Polk 10 in. Car SubwooferBrand/Model: PLK GNX104I want to get two of them, what kind of amp should I get? Watts? Examples? Price range? Please help? and what kind of speaker wire?ThanksJosh

find the rms wattage of the subs and youll need an amp with that same rms wattage by 2 channels go to sounddomain.com and search 2 channel amps its really easy

I thought if I was going to have two subs that I would need a 4 channel sub. I am trying to find the rms right now.Josh

It holds RMS 175w and I can't find a 2 channel that does that much, the biggest I see is 150w. Also, I thought you couldn't use a 2 channel for 2 subs. I thought you had to have a 4 chan. if you had 2 subs.ThanksJosh

A two channel amp has a a place to install 2 speakers, whatever they may be. Or most decent amps you can also bridge. A four channel amp would allow you to install a total of 4 speakers whatever they may be. With the 2 channel you just need one set of RCA cables from the deck to the amp. I would run them from the RCA rear output on the deck. Also dont run the RCA cables next the 12 volt Bat. cable back to the trunk, there are chances of static interference through the subs, makes it sound like a bad ground. I run mine on seperate sides of the car. Also dont forget the remote wire.

Okay does anyone have any suggestions on what amp I should buy for 350RMS? I don't know which one to look at. The only 2 channel amp I have seen that holds that much is a Power Acoustik. Are they good amps and should I get and 8 gauge wiring kit?ThanksJosh

JL audio 250 by 1 monoblock amp. Probably one of the best damn amps you can buy. If you want something a little cheaper, buy a alpine v12 monoblock amp. it runs around 170rms but remember its real watt rating, not fake.

To buy a good amp, expect to spend around $1-1.50 a watt. So the Alpine is gonna be around 180 bucks too I think. Hope this helps.
