Car: 2009 Infiniti M35

Good afternoon everyone!
I have a stumper here and would really like some help.

The car is a 2009 Infiniti M35 and the engine compartment still has all the plastics which says the engine is a 3.5. I am replacing the dreaded water pump and NOTHING is adding up.

The internet says there are 2 access panels on the timing cover (water pump and tensioner). A Nissan technician also said there are 2 access panels. My motor does not have those 2 access panels. The passenger side camshaft sprocket cover reveals the tensioner and the driver side cover only accesses the camshafts sprockets.

I had to remove the entire timing chain cover (and oil pan) to access the water pump.

Now, I get the old water pump out and go to put the new one in and the new one is too small. The new one is loose in the hole where the O-rings seal.

So, the question is, how can I identify which motor this is so I can get the right water pump?

The only numbers on the old water pump is "8612" if that helps.

Did some calling and I was surprised the Infiniti dealership parts department was a great help.

Come to find out, my M35 has the VQ35HR engine in it. It's also the same motor they used in the Skylines.

They even gave me the part number for the water pump.
Buy it thru Infiniti = $235
Buy it thru Nissan = $135
Buy it thru NAPA = $75

Haha

Glad to got it sorted! Yes, the 2009 and 2010 had a slightly different VQ35 than the 2006, 2007 and 2008.
