I'm trying to install the front KYB AGX with Pro-kits on my 1995 S14. Problem is, the holes in the bottom of each strut are too small for the stock spindle bolts (these are the two 17mm and 19mm bolts). Do I have the wrong struts? I got these from Enjuku recently and they are part no. 733006/007 which corresponds to the S14 AGX strut. Or do I have to use smaller bolts? Please, if anybody can help I would really appreciate it. These are supposed to bolt right in so I don't know what's up.

S13 AGX's are identical to S14 AGX EXCEPT they have a ~12mm hole instead of ~14mm, like the S14.

Sounds like that's what you have.

Buy a 9/16" drill bit ($9), open them up, DONE.

Hmmm... thanks for the confirmation. I totally misread the kyb website last night. I actually do have the S13 fronts. Before I drill out those holes, I'm going to get in touch with enjuku to see if I can just swap them. Let's just say I'm not confident in my drilling skills (and they're two weeks old).

However, when I put my stock strut tower back on (the one I disassembled before realizing I had the wrong shock) the driver's side rotor/wheel is 1" farther away from the midline than the passenger's side. What did I do wrong?

Try adjusting your strut bar. Most come with adjustable endlinks on them, so that you can correct problems just like that.

If that doesn't help, have the alignment shop take a look at your problem. You did just lower your car - y ou ARE going to align it, aren't you? Be good to those tires!

Absolutely! I still need to replace the worn T/C bushings before the alignment. Thanks for the strut (sway?) bar tip. I took a look and the top part of the passenger side endlink, when looking down from above, is not perpendicular to the bar. I'll try to fix that and see what happens. I had installed the driver's spring upside down, which I think contributed to the camber problem. The driver's side tire is also too far forward within the wheel well, but that may also be due to the sway bar or to the shot TC bushings. Could this be called excessive negative caster? (just trying to get my terminology right).

ps. big ups to enjuku for quickly sending me replacement AGXs - those guys are great.

heh i don't think you guys are talking about the strut tower bar. The strut tower bar would not affect the position of your wheel/rotors. If it does, you've got MAJOR issues :P

Ok now I'm confused. Newcastle were you talking about the sway / stabilizer bar or a strut tower bar (one that goes in the engine bay). I don't have a tower bar, so adjusting that wouldn't be much help...
