I have been reading these forums for a while. I want to pull a t3/t4 turbo out of a car for my 98 240sx ka24de. I plan on pulling this out of a 300zx tt but i am not sure which one. i read in many threads to pull it out of a z31 or a z32. This is confusing to me because i dont know if i am getting the wrong information from some of the threads. Also i need to know what other parts i would need to pull out of my donor car to make this turbo swap work. I also read that i could use a t25 from a sr20det and use that for my swap. They say that it will give a good response with not much lag. the t3/4 will hit full boost around the 3000rpm. if anyone can help me with my questions i would really appreciate it.

Well, the Z31 is a straight T3, not a hybrid T3/T4, and is probably your best OE USDM option for making power. The turbo's from the Z32 are smaller, would boost insanely fast, but would choke your engine too much up high for any kind of big power. The SR20-based T25 is pretty much the same story. As long as the scavenged turbo still has an in tact wastegate there really isn't too much other hardware you can reuse unless you get your hands on an SR20 SMIC and/or fuel injectors. If you find a turbo Z, grab the MAF and fuel pump. Someone else chime in, that's all I can think of...

T25 from an SR is too small! Its almost too small for the SR, forget about the KA.T3 is a good turbo but chokes at 5000rmpsSome turbo diesel turbos will work fine, like a Holset HX35W, its big but you can get it for like 100-150 bucks. And it has a T3 flange that will work with almost all the turbo manifolds that are out there.T3/T4 is your best bet but they are expensive.
