I have a question. What are all the expenses I have to pay if I'm buying a car from this guy in Florida and he's driving it up here to Wisconsin. Title, taxes etc...???

I paid in cash and wrote down the price of the car as much lower that what I paid so I can pay less tax...

if its an open title (meaning the buy has the title in hand its not a dealer or anything) u tell him not to fill out the part of the title that says how much he sold it to u and u will save alot of money

Say that YOU drove to florida to pick it up. Then you won't have to pay sales tax since you didn't buy it in wisconsin... I'm not too sure if that'll work... but I know some people from louisiana come across the border(to texas) and get out of having to pay taxes.. or something like that.

its kinda wierd why we have to pay another tax on a used car. when someone bought a new car, dont they pay the tax for it alrdy. i dont think you can getaway without paying tax unless its a gift.

That's what I thought. Vermont got in trouble years back and had to refund a lot of money over something like that. Over here we pay sales tax when we register the car. That way, when you sell that car, and transfer the plate, you have tax credit on the plate. P.S. If the "sale price" sounds fishy, they will just look up the "fair" market value.

what's really messed up about all of this is this:A.) Sales tax is paid on a car when it's bought new.B.) You're taxed on your original incomeC.) The seller has to pay tax on the money he/she receives when they sell a carD.) The buyer has to pay tax on the car when they buy it.

Anyone else seeing a pattern here???
