Car: driving like a retard

Post

i own a 97 nissan 240sx auto with a ka24de and an aftermarket turbo kit,

the problem is this.

my car stumbles a bit at idle and will bog very bad if i give it more than about 25% throttle, and when i hit about 2psi or about 4000 rpm it will bog so bad it wont rev any higher.

since the problem i have:put in new injectorsput in new injector o-ringsput in new bosch platnum plus 2 spark plugsput in a new cap and rotorput in a new air flow meter

none of this helped.

the last time i drove around the block to test it i got a, p0300multiple misfire detected code.

i cant figure out what is wrong, please help my car please!

has the problem changed in charicter after doing some of that work you listed or is it EXACTLY the same failure it was before you did anything? Had you done anything just prior to the problem surfacing? I ask cause I am questioning the quality of the parts you bought. To start in my opinion Bosch plugs are crap. Nissans only do well with NGK's. Does the dist cap say Italy any where on it if it does go ahead and take it off and toss it. they tend to be garbage out of the box. If its factory or even made in japan or usa it will be ok. Hows the condition of the plug wires. Your bog is to high for me to think Airflow meter that generally occurs at around 2500 rpm.

do you think going a couple heat ranges colder in a ngk plug would help?

just get the ones rated for your car. If it were my car I would get the NGK plats equivelant. yea 11 bones a piece is steep but they are 100k mile plugs. meaning you never need to change them again unless you keep the car forever. which most people dont. unless you drive the piss out of it and hit 100k in les then 5 yrs.

get rid of those junk parts!how long had the turbo been on the car before the prob happened? it sounds like a fuel management issue.

what do you consider to be junk parts?

the turbo has been on for about a month before this happened and for that month it ran ok

as far as i know the cap and rotorare factory replacements, but as for the plugs everyone seems to think i should use cheap copper core plugs but go 2 heat ranges colder, but i still find it hard to believe thats the problem.

im thinking of bypassing the begi fmu and hooking up the factory one but im afraid it will run way to lean and cuase damage, i think 8 psi is too much for factory injectors and ecu.

cheap copper core plugs is not a bad thing. spark plugs are one of those "if it aint broke..." kind of things. platinum plugs are great for the change interval but have no advantage in performance. dual electrodes are a bad idea unless the engine was designed for them(like some toyotas). think of this, moving the center electrode 1mm in the wrong direction can cost you 1 hp. that is most especially the case with nissans ga16de engine. mike kojima tested all the popular brands of plug and found that they all lost hp compared to the stockers. they might not have all lost, maybe just some, but none gained on the ngk R plugs with the V groove. that V groove works, it make the spark fatter. a dual electrode only sparks on one side.

that is prob not the problem, but wouldnt you kick yourself if it was?
