Huge Problem with my 240. i have an automatic 95 and every time i rev past 3500 exactly my car starts lagging and smoking like crazy. I just flushed the system and i realized there is a small leak in the valve cover gasket but otherwise no codes or obvious problems. my mechanic is stumped. the car feels like im hitting a rev limitter or something. I was also wondering if anyone has the voltage curves on a stock KA and an SR AFM. Any suggestions would be great.

:help thanks a million :help

lots of white smoke. pours out as soon as i hit 3500rpms and then the car feels like transmission is slipping or something. (reving but no oomph) we checked the spark plug boots for oil and they checked out ok. there was a little leak in the valve cover but i put in high milage oil and it stoped that leak for now. i am saving for a rebuild or "refresh" atleast but still need a little more for pistons and junk.

Damn it. That sucks. Would the blown head gasket cause the lagging? I have to change the gaskets but is something else wrong? and the smoke smells kind of like coolent mixed with oil or spinach tortillas (sorry first image that poped into my head when i smelled it)

by the way thanks for all the help guys. im proud to be a part of such a tight nit org. :ylsuper

well check to see if it is actually your gasket(it probably is but to be on the safe side)when your car is cold enough remove the radiator cap and start the car, if you see a bunch of bubbles, then it is your gasket
