i am about to lose my mind, lol

here's what i have:

1994 Nissan Sentra SE-R w/ a SR20DET Bluebird

What's going on:

i was driving along and the oil lite comes on, so i shut her done imedeitly. the oil filter had came off. i was going to do an oil change the following day so i had every thing needed in my car. i installed a new filter, sadly a fram, and filled the oil. went on my merry way and 4 days later it did it again. i still had the old oem filter in my car so i walked to the store picked up some oil. i put the old filter back on and filled the oil AGAIN. started it and it popped it off right away this time. left the car there and had a friend help me tow it to another friends garage. went to nissan the following day and bout the oem filter. installed the filter yep u guessed it i filled the oil yet again. this lasted another week or so. until today. off it came again. i went and bought a wix filter, filled the oil and off it came again.

i have never seen this before. any insight would be greatly accepted. a friend said to try testing the oil pressure sender. i asked the guy at the parts store and he said he's heard of it on other cars. he said could be a bad oil pump or a clog. please help me so i don't have to resort in a tear down and rebuild, but i will if i have to cause that would be a blast.

thank you,martin

So its actually popping off or coming unscrewed? You A) have stripped the threads or B) have the wrong oil filter. What is the part number of the oil filter you are using and for what type of vehicle are you getting it for? You car originally came with a low port motor, the blue bird motor is a high port motor.

try the nissan filter 15208-9E00.

the fram filter that I have used in the past is ph 4386.

the wix part number should be 51394.

Your problem is you have the wrong oil filter, period. Try one of those filters with the corresponding part number and you will not have anymore issues.

I'm currently using the mobil 1 filter, M1-103.

do what? look up the wix part number you have, it is not for the nissan sentra you have, its for the spec v/se-r with the qr motor.http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...i=250

http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ...fb_cc

wix 51394 is the filter you should have on the car.

15208-53J00 should be the correct number for nissan sentra w/2.0 according to mynismo.com.

the other nissan part number I gave you was also for the se-r/spec v, sorry about that.

the first part number you posted from nissan 15208-65F0C is for a 350z/g35.

there is a lowport and a highport version of the SR20. You having a bluebird motor means you have a highport. The oil filters are different.

what is wrong with just ordering the right part. I have no idea if the filters are the same, its not like you can walk into a store and ask for a filter for a motor that was never used in the states, turbo or NA. The turbo motor you have is essentially the NA version the sentra came with from 1991-1992, highport SR20. Just go to nissan and get the filter 15208-53J00.

p.s.

a search in the sr20det rwd section tells me the b13 se-r filter used on the s13 sr20det.

15208-53J00 is the one I use on my u12 bluebird, I to had an issue with the oil filter blowing off, fixed it with this oil filter.
