please help!!!!!

alittle background i have s13, and had to replace the rod bearings. so we pulled the motor and replaced them, put the motor back and hooked everything up. so now the car turns but to get it to start you have to give it alot of gas and it wont idle if you let off the gas it dies, it back fires alot, and i have no clue what is wrong with it. please help me.

Sounds like you dont have your distributor in right.

Heres what you do to test that theory.. Take the two bolts that hold the dizzy down out. Have someone start the car, while you rotate your dizzy around. If it dies when you turn it one way, turn it the other way and it should try to run better. A little turn does a lot on the dizzy, turn that thing slowly.

If that doesnt work, you probably messed up the cam timing, and you need to redo that.

update: read up abit and thought it may be the maf, unpluged it and it idle for alittle but pretty ruff. then after about 30sec it dies. if i get up to 1-3k or so it sounds fine. still kind of stumped.
