Sounds like you dont have your distributor in right.
Heres what you do to test that theory.. Take the two bolts that hold the dizzy down out. Have someone start the car, while you rotate your dizzy around. If it dies when you turn it one way, turn it the other way and it should try to run better. A little turn does a lot on the dizzy, turn that thing slowly.
If that doesnt work, you probably messed up the cam timing, and you need to redo that.
