I just bought a 94 Q45 almost a month ago and it is running rough. It's stutttering and the idle is going down and then back up to where it was when I stop. It still runs and everything but I'm not sure why it shakes like this when I stop. No lights or signs are on. Please help.

1.Check transmission fluid

2. Fiddle with the MAF connector while the car is running - see if changes.

More will chime in. In the meantime, this forum has an excellent search function - button in the upper right of the screen.

Sorry, I was in a hurry and wasn't very helpful.

gniknave was having similar idle/stalling trouble and recently discovered that if the transmission fluid is low, it can cause a problem - the torque converter can lock up and cause the car to stall when decelerating. Check the fluid level and top it off, if necessary.

Problems with the MAF (mass air flow sensor) and its connector also cause similar symptoms. Here's a good article with pictures and instructions for cleaning the MAF
