Hi guys, the stock clutch in my s14 was starting to go so I bought an xtd stage 3 clutch on ebay. I did a search on xtd on here and some gave it pretty good reviews. So I bought it and installed it using the stock flywheel. I didn't have it resurfaced because it looked good and others have said that they have gone through multiple clutches on the same stock unresurfaced flywheels. And also I heard something about ka flywheels being hard to resurface because it is easy to take off too much of the surface. I started driving around and first thing was my clutch pedal became super soft and even after thoroughly bleeding it, checking if the master/slave were ok and removing the clutch dampener box, the clutch is still super easy to push. Also, when the clutch engages I feel the clutch shuddering and making some noise. I drove it around, went on a 300 mile trip, never went above 3k rpms and then I decided to see if it would at least hold a bit of power so I tested it in 3rd gear and the clutch slipped as soon as boost came on so I let off. Does it need the full 500mile break in period? Should I take it out again and clean everything off? Get the flywheel resurfaced? Get a new flywheel? Any suggestions and help on what could have gone wrong? I hope I didn't ruin the clutch already.
Alex.
