Sorry, it is not about 240sx, it is about Maxima, but not a lot of people post on Maxima form...so i just post it here. Here is the problem we have..ok, it is a 1996 Nissan Maxima, at first, the car wont start, so we thought the battery died out. After we recharge the battery, cars starts again, but the problem is...while we are driving on the high way, after we apply the brake, the headlight kinda dims out then the car just stall out. This happenes couple times........can this be the alternator or.....???? someone please tell me what the problem is..thanx

my guess would be the alternator, when my alternator was bad my car died out on my while driving, and it really lacked power. so check the alternator.

alternator failing to charge the battery, or possibly a short in the wiring under the dash.

my car some wut did a similar thing. but all i changed was the distributer cap and rotor, and it was good after that. it won't hurt to try it.

My mom's car did the same thing, It's 99% likely to be the alternator or the wiring involved with it.
