I thought that I saw a thread on this subject but now seems like I can't find it. Does anybody know where is it at or have a wiring diagram? I'd checked at msdignition.com and could not find anything there. I am installing on s13 ka-e. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

Oh.....after installing my 89k ka-e......everytime I step on the brake, my cluster lights up and chime like I have the door open. I've been trying to figure this problem out for about a week now and did not come up with anything. Any ideas?

post that first question to the KA guys. I'm not familiar with the MSD stuff.

Sounds like you've got wires crossing behind your cluster/above your feet. Start with the brake switch and follow it to where the lines meet up with the chime box's wires.

I think I'd check on that but for the sake of it, I'll do it again. Thanks.

There is a plug that goes into the stock coil. This plug has 2 wires. One is negative and the other is positive. Use a volt meter to find out which one is positive and which one is negative. iirc the black one is positive and the green negative, at least on 91-93. Hook these wires to the new coil positive to positive and negative to negative. The MSD papers speak of a ballast resistor and I can't help you there.

Actually one of the wires that goes to the stock coil is a tach wire. I know that the other is the positive. The negative is the one that clips to the body of the car. Thats what got me worried towards splicing the positive wire. I don't know what to do with the tach. I don't know if I should just go by the conversion diagram for the de or not. I might try that and see what happens.

Well that's good to know. Two of my friends are running it the way I previously stated and they are working fine. I don't have any long term experience with it though considering we just hooked it up about 3 weeks ago.
