Hello community!!!!I have just signed up and would like to introduce myself as a new Infinity fan from New York. I currently drive a car which soon will be falling apart and I really need to buy a new one fast! My heart falls on 2 fairly rare Inifinis: the Q45 and M45.

Since so far (feature wise and luxury) I like Q45 better, even though I have not driven neither one of them yet. According to some online research, both of them seem to be soooo much alike, except the Q is much more "blown up" and seems to have more luxurious features (please correct me if I am wrong).

If I was to by the M45 Infinity, can someone please explain the differences between 2003 and 2004 models (I believe these years have the same body design and they are pretty much something I could afford). To tell you the truth, these cars look much more expensive than they really cost.

Are they problematic?

I assume they are very expensive to fix being out of warranty. What are the most common problems in M45s? What should I look out for the most when buying one?

Which is more luxurious class the M or the Q?

Which is more reliable the M45 or the Q45?

Am I making the righ choice with these beautiful cars?

THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!!!!!

Hello,Most, if not all, are quite enamored with our cars. The only real issue that comes up is oil consumption with some motors. This applies to both cars. The big difference between the Q/M in day to day is back seat room. The Q is roomy in the back, the M much less legroom. Options are very similar. The Q does offer rear reverse camera on some models. Also the rear sunshade. Pretty sure those are the only two options that differ. If you like the Q, go for it. Also offers more years to choose from, 2002-2006. If getting a 2002, make sure the previous owner preformed the upgrade for the throttle by wire system and pedal. I would also recommend checking out previous posts about the differences between 03-04 M. Very few differences. Mostly location of the CD changer.Good Luck,Mark

THank you for the replies!I really appreciate all the feedback I may consolidate.

Does the M45 have rear seat recline feature? I find that to be very novel and luxurious feature for 02 Q.

Which vehicle do You think is more reliable?(On the Q forum, one mentioned some dash cluster problems in the M, however they mentioned no specific issues for the Q)

Thank you!!!

Hello,Not familiar with any dash module problems. Recommend doing a search though. Been here a bit and cannot remember one thread about this issue. As to M or Q, I would go with the newest, best maintained one. Highly recommend the Infiniti C.P.O program along with the Elite Warranty upgrade. The M 03-04 does not have a rear recline feature. Rear seat is somewhat small considering size of car. 1st gen G has more. Q much bigger back seat.Cheers,M.L
