To solve your problem, the TYPE S was the right choice to go. The type s comes with two nipples, top one gets a signal from the intake plenum while the bottom one, to help prevent compressor surge, hooks up to the hotpipe (pipe between turbo and intercooler). If your boost controller is getting boost signal from the hotpipe you can put a "T" in that vacuum line and connect it to the bottom fitting/nipple on the TYPE S. This should solve your turbo surge problem. Compressor surge is VERY bad for the turbo, if it keeps doing that, it may last you a month, two tops. If your car is running at 15 psi, it wont last long either without necessary fuel upgrades. It'll be ok for a while if the weather is fine but on a very hot day running 15psi with the possibity of boost creep, you could blow your engine. For my manual boost controller, turning counter clockwise lowers boost. My boost controller is made by Hallman by the way. Hope this helps.
