I've been trying to search for a LONG time now, but I haven't had ANY luck, so im sorry if these have been discussed before.

So again, ANY help is much appreciated!

1. Im having a problem where if my lights are completely off and I hit the brakes, all my parking lights come on. And if I already have my lights on, the brake lights are on as if I was hitting my brakes. So its a big problem at night when im driving and it looks like Im hitting the brakes all the time. Im sure its a wire crossed somewhere, but is there a problem spot that I could check first?

2. I have NO power inside the car unless the key is on the ON position. I can turn on all the external lights, but no power inside the car. This makes it annoying with the power seatbelts, and the clock resetting everytime. I assume this one is a fuse, but which?

3. E-brake, only the passenger rear wheel gets locked, not the drivers and if I slam on the brakes hard enough to lock up the tires, the car goes sideways instantly.

4. Smoke, the car throws out a WHOLE lot of black smoke ONLY at the very top of first gear right before redline as soon as I push in the clutch, but it doesn't do it in any other gear. Injectors?

5. Cig lighter, won't work, fuse is good. Not really a big deal.

4.

3) Your caliper might be seized up, have you checked it? Checked you ebrake cables?

5) Is the lighter pluged in the back?

GL with the rest

Ok, well, check all your fuses, as far as the car not having any power unless you have the key in the on pos. is normal. The seat belts will retract, though if you are loosing program to the clock, then the car is loosing all power when you turn the key off, and you need to replace the alt fuse. Checking the fuses is key. The brake light issue is going to be an electrical issue and I wouldnt know where to start.

Brakes, you have a sticking caliper, best bet, buy a set of remanufactured calipers for all four corners. That way they are new with a warr.

Smoke, sounds like your rings or valve seals might be about shot. A engine swap will solve that issue.

Cig lighter; make sure it is plugged in, and if it is, then buy a new one. It might be bad.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Got the problem #2 taken care of, all good now, was just a fuse.

I pulled off the wheel for the wheels that's not locking up, and it looks like it may have been stuck at one point, because it has way less pad left then the others. Fronts are all new brembo/hawks, so i'll just get new calipers for the back and match the front.

As for the smoking, I'd really hope its not the rings or valve seals, the engine only has about 5k on it since rebuild. (ka24e, no Idea why last owner decided to rebuilt it)

I suggest looking at the FSM. Check out the wiring and harness layouts in the "EL" section.

Then if you see anything suspect use a multimeter to verify point to point continuity.

he said black smoke which would be unburnt fuel, if it were rings or valve seals the smoke would be blue. id check spark plugs/wires/cap/rotor etc

I'll check the FSM and hopefully I can figure out the brake problem, thanks!

Do you think leaky injectors would be causing the smoke at the top of first? and little amounts during the rest of the time in high RPM's?

it could but you should check the easier things first. got new plugs, rotor, cap, wires? if all that checks out then id check injectors. what do the plugs look like? are any one(s) of them fouled?

For problem number one, make sure you have all the correct buls in the correct sockets. If you have a dual fillament bulb where a single should be it will cause a problem vice versa. If that checks out ok, check all your grounds.

As far as your brake issue, you may have some trash in one of the lines, causing more pressure to be diverted to the other. You might want to try and flush your lines, corrosion can be a killer. Also, check for a possible pin hole on your weak side. Good luck
