Here are 2 pages from Nissan manual:http://community.webshots.com/...gQYigh ... /...FOdAW1) it is stated that inner diameter wear limit is 0.20mm while stock pistons are at most +0.05mm, and piston-to-cylinder clearance must be 0.015-0.035mm.How can that be?2) What is "honing allowance"?If we take formula for bore size: D=Piston_diameter + clearance(0.015-0.035) - honing_allowance(0.02mm)Does that mean that these 0.02mm are additionally cut during honing process? For example, we take 83.03 piston, add 0.02(clearance) and substract 0.02(honing allowance) and get bore diameter 83.03mm and after honing it's 83.03+0.02=83.05mm? Do I get it right?

Please help me to get clear with this

Don't worry about all the other crap. All you need to know is the piston to cylinder clearance. Use a micrometer and measure the diameter of the piston (measure at the skirt), then measure the diameter of the cylinder. If the difference is between .015-.035 then you're golden.

And what's the real limit of clearance? Is 0.05 too muc already? And what about this "honing allowance" ?

The .20mm is the maximum difference that you can have between the bore of the cylnders. ie, as long as the diameter of the #1, #2, #3, & #4 are all withing .2mm of each other, you're OK.

The clearance that you want between the piston and the cylnder is .015-.035mm.

I'm not sure on the honing allowance. I didn't pay any attention to it. When I built my motor, all I did was call the company that I bought the pistons from (They were new, custom, forged pistons) asked them what they wanted the piston to cylinder clearance to be, and then bored and honed it to within that range.

OK, I guess I'll do the same - just tell guys what the clearance should be About those 0.2mm though I still don't understand. All cylinders must be 83.00-83.05 according to manual, so obviously they would be within 0.2 (even 0.05mm)?
