Yo, so my motor was idling & running mint, but the alternator light to the dash was not hooked up. I found out the hard way how important this is. Anyway, I since wired it up after extensive testing using a test light.

Now my engine won't idle properly, sometimes stalling when I put the clutch in, other times it fluctuates down to 200rpm, and then up and down and up and down at idle.

It's pretty annoying. I reset the ECU, thinking it was a voltage related problem... but it appears not to have done anything.

Any suggestions anyone ?

Does it do it when its hot, cold, or both? Did it start doing this when the alternator light was hooked up (because that shouldnt have any issue with the ECU).......

If battery voltage drops below 11volts then goofy things start to happen..

Im going to go ahead and pretend im dealing with a Q..

Those shoudl be consult compatible, we should trace back the consult signals so you can hook that up.

Works mint when driving, it's just when idling or when the clutch is in so the revs can drop to idle.

It does it both hot and cold, and the voltage isn't dropping below 11 volts because we tested it.

Can't consult test it as all the consult wires are presently terminated off the ECCS plug, but I'll rewire them at some point when I get a consult plug.

I suspected AAC/ACV valve, and ran the test light on it at lunchtime, it's got voltage so meh!

IAC ? Idle valve, right ? Doesn't matter how I adjust it, the motor still fluctuates pretty hard.

watch your MAF Voltage, maybe try wiggling the MAF connector and cleaning its contacts....

Yeah I'll give that a go. Still not sure what would be causing this though, haven't touched the MAF side of the car's wiring at all.

like I said, im just pretending this is a Q... When it seems like it wants to stall at idle its usually a bad MAF...

Heres what mine would do when the MAF went bad... Sometimes it would stall after you warm the car up, turn it off, and then turn it back on within 5-10 mins... Then it would start to stall when I would come to a complete stop at a stopsign or something... Finally, it started bucking ocassionally while driving. probably would have stalled if I was in high gear, but i drive my Q in 3rd gear (probably your 4th, 1:1 ratio) when im just puttin around town.
