hey wuz up my name is dre and i bought a ca18det thinkin this would be a great decision but i had nuthin but problems i bought the motor from jdm addiction and i knew nothing about the motor just that it was good come to find out that it had a cut wire harness no ignitor and something else was missin it took me 2 months to find the parts and when my machanic as slow as he was put it in the compression was bad so he told me the motor was no good so i called jdm and they have a 30 day warranty so no money or engine 4 dre.. now is there and way i can boost the compression up or do i have to buy a whole new ca18det .. thanks 4 ur advice dre

If the compression is ****ed you need a new motor or rebuild the one you have.

what were the compression numbers that you got?

man yo they were low they where all under 100 but we did it on 4 different test and only 1 was at 120

not necessairly cause the problem could also be that the rings are stuck from sitting so long or could have carbon built up around them keepin them from expanding, in all try to use something like seafoam or mccc(from dodge dealer) and see if that helps?

nearly everything you need can be had from 88 pulsar w/ CA18DE
